Beechcliffe School is a specialist provision operating over two sites. The Keighley site offers special education for students with generic needs and Thackley site is a specialist SEMH provision.

All our pupils have a statement of special educational need or a EHCP plan.

We are a secondary (11-19) aged provision, however, we welcome applications from teachers from both primary and secondary backgrounds for the full-time permanent posts as well as colleagues who can teach on secondment for 1 or 2 years with an agreement in place with their host school.

The post is based at the Beechcliffe Thackley site, which is specialist provision catering for young people with Education Health Care Plans and have Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) as their primary need but also have other compounding challenges to overcome.

Teachers have a dedicated class group and teach a range of subjects similar to the primary classroom model. We welcome applications from either primary, secondary or specialist trained individuals. 

We are a growing and developing provision and we welcome staff who are highly skilled classroom teachers that can play an important role in developing the skills our pupils will need to enjoy success and happiness in life. The right candidate must have a strong presence, excellent behaviour management and a genuine commitment to our pupil group. 

The post is suitable for an enthusiastic and dynamic teacher who will be able to demonstrate a proven record in delivering outstanding outcomes for students. Whilst this ultimately is a qualified teacher post we would also welcome applications from individuals with coaching and instructor skills and we would continue to support them in their development.

Vacancy – Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Keighley Site

We are looking to recruit Special Needs Teaching Assistants for our Keighley site. Our SNTA's play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing of our youngsters, and assisting our teachers in the classroom and beyond.

The successful candidate will join a highly experienced team and will receive support and training whilst working with us. 

Working under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff, you will undertake work, care and support programmes, enabling access to learning for pupils and assisting the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area.

You must be flexible, adaptable and willing to work with a range of pupils with complex profound needs, autism, additional sensory processing needs and challenging behaviours. The work can be physically and emotionally challenging and it is essential therefore that you are emotionally resilient and physically able to meet the demands of the posts.

This is a permanent position, 31 hours per week, Mon 8.40am - 4.15pm, Tues - Fri 8.40am - 3.10pm. Term time only plus 5 training days, to start as soon as possible.

You must be fluent in English – The Immigration Act 2016 has introduced a new requirement for public authorities from October 2016 to ensure that workers in customer facing roles speak fluent English. This is a statutory requirement.
